Our Secret to Scale
Converting physical media to digital is a critical job. Doing it yourself, the task can become an overwhelming project requiring multiple pieces of hardware, great organizational skills, and an incredible attention to detail. This explains why most American consumers have not yet digitized their precious memories.
Heirloom Digitizes Boxes of Outdated Media
We digitize VHS cassettes, piles of photos, and even reeled video inherited from an older family member. More recently were transferring CDs and DVDs to the cloud, so the digital photos and video can be enjoyed by more friends and family. We take great care to classify, sort, and count all the items when an order is received. Heirloom sends digitized samples for review, along with a precise quote to digitize the entire order. We take pride in our craftsmanship. Our small scale operation delivers an accurate and quality product to the delight of our customers.
One Billion VHS Cassettes!
Yes, there are nearly one billion VHS cassettes that still require digitization. We're just beginning to tap into an immense market for our digitizing service. Heirloom customers, shareholders, and vendors all ask a very good question: "How will you scale to process thousands of orders per day?" This growth will require an army of Media Handlers with strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, and comfort using the latest innovations in technology. Where will Heirloom find hundreds of dedicated workers who enjoy serving others with the highly focused and often repetitive work necessary to digitize all these memories?
Autistic Young Adults
We're not the only company that understands the amazing abilities of employees on the autism spectrum. Microsoft has had autistic hiring program since 2015. Organizations like Autism Speaks, Autism at Work, and the Frist Center for Autism and Innovation at Vanderbilt University are just a few of the champions for neurodiversity. The Harvard Business Review refers to Neurodiversity as a Competitive Advantage.
Talent On the Spectrum
On October 4, 2020, Anderson Cooper of 60 MINUTES aired "Talent on the Spectrum". This piece of journalism demonstrated the way some companies are benefiting with the talent of this often overlooked group of young men and women. If you struggle with employment for a family member on the spectrum, I pray you find hope in this recent video.
Heirloom's Neurodiversity Recruiting
This is right on multiple levels. Employing young adults on the autism spectrum certainly provides Heirloom with a cadre of highly focused Media Handlers, but it will also drive innovation and research into new methods of big data management to the benefit of our customers. Secondly, Heirloom believes it's unacceptable that Americans on the autism spectrum suffer from an 85% unemployment rate. Partnering with organizations like the Organization for Autism Research and Hire Autism, Heirloom seeks to become among the largest autistic employer in each of the locations where we build a new digitizing facility.
